WHO/Europe International Conference on Cardiovascular Diseases was held in St.Petersburg

In St.petersburg WHO/Europe International Conference on Cardiovascular Diseases was held. Leading experts discussed prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases according to the World and European programmes.

Speakers from the UK, Croatia, malta, Norway, France and other countries shared their experience in organizing special programmes. Main discussed topics were:
- the evidence for what can be achieved in prevention of CVD through population-level prevention on major risk factors and determinants, and the balance with individual-level interventions.
- heart attacks and strokes, quick diagnosis and treatment that can save lives and reduce or prevent damage to the heart or brain.
- the evidence for secondary prevention and rehabilitation as well as for individual-level prevention
- cardiometabolic risk assessment and management.

Experts from 30 countries participated in the conference.

Meeting was supported by the Russian Society of Cardiology.
