The World Heart Federation (WHF)


The World Heart Federation (WHF) is a non-governmental s an umbrella organization representing the global cardiovascular community, uniting patient, medical, and scientific groups. WHF connects the cardiovascular community, translates science into policy and promotes the exchange of information and knowledge to achieve heart health for everyone.

WHF membership of more than 200 heart foundations, scientific societies and patient organizations in more than 100 countries is an active hub, promoting heart health and driving change at the local, regional and global level.

WHF is governed by the Board elected every two years.

The federation hosts the World Congress of Cardiology.

"World Heart Day" was founded in 2000 to inform people around the globe that heart disease and stroke are the world’s leading causes of death. World Heart Day is celebrated every year on 29 September.
