The World Health Organization (WHO)

 

The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations, consisting of 194 member states, whose main function lies in solving international health problems.

WHO headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland. 6 WHO regional offices are responsible for different regions of the world.

Tasks of the WHO:

- provision of international recommendations in the field of health

- setting healthcare standards

- cooperation with governments of countries in the field of strengthening national health programs

- development and transfer of appropriate technologies, information and health standards.
