Russian Society of Cardiology was properly represented at the European Congress of Cardiology in Amsterdam that was held from August 31 to September 4, 2013.

More than 200 physicians and research workers from our country visited the Congress. Participation of our country was fully reflected in the scientific programme of the event: 

15 posters and 2 lectures:

  • Е. Pokushalov from Novosibirsk presented his lecture «Ganglionated plexi ablation vs linear ablation in patients undergoing pulmonary vein isolation for persistent/longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation: a randomized comparison.»;

  • S. Pekarsky from Tomsk presented his lecture «Renal denervation by endocardial ablation system».

 

  

  

RSC President, Professor Evgeny Shlyakhto was invited by ESC Congress Programme Committee to co-chair three sessions: "Impact of Kidney Disease on therapy and Outcome in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes", "A new look at the measurement of blood pressure", and “Stratified Approach to Resistant Hypertension”.

 

RSC Board Member, Professor Alexandra Konradi presented a lecture “What do the guidelines say. Diagnosis and conventional treatment of resistant hypertension” at the plenary session on Renal Denervation.To see Professor Konradi’s presentation, please click here.

 

 

RSC provided 14 travel grants to young scientists from Samara, Chelyabinsk, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg to visit Amsterdam and take part in the European Congress. 

 

 

Once again, we are celebrating a great victory of the Russian Cardiology – Professor Evgeny Chazov was awarded with the Gold Medal of the European Society of Cardiology! Recognition of his outstanding achievements in diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases became a significant event for the Russian medical community. Our congratulations to RSC Honourary President, academician Evgeny Ivanovich Chazov!
