First scientific and educational forum of physicians and cardiologists took place in Makhackala (Republic of Dagestan, Russia) on March 14, 2014

RSC President Evgeny Shlyakhto, RSC Secretary General Alexander Nedoshivin, Member of RSC Presidium Alexandra Konradi and Chairman of RSC branch in Republic of Dagestan Аligadzhy Abdullaev were co-chaired the meeting.

Professor Abdullaev indicated problems in treatment of cardiac diseases in Dagestan and pointed out that we need to develop high technologies in cardiology.

Profesor Shlyakhto said that RSC made a great progress in past few years. Now it has 47 regional branches and more than 5 000 people. "For today we are the largest professional organization among all mdical societies in Russia", - he said.

Professor Shlyakhto added that RSC needs to work in chain with governmental departments, to provide postgraduate education and to develop translational medicine.

Conference continued with presentations about acute coronary syndrom, ESC guidelines on arterial hypertension and future evolution of RSC.
