Happy New Year 2016!

Dear Colleagues and Friends!

It is my great pleasure to congratulate you and wish Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Russian Society of Cardiology – one of the biggest and most trustworthy professional medical public organizations in Russia – contributes a lot to joint efforts of the government to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in Russia. 

This year our priority was realization of the programme within the Year of struggle with cardiovascular diseases – major social and educational actions on teaching people scientifically based principles of healthy lifestyle and primary prevention as well as developing professional knowledge and skills of medical specialists in diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. There is no doubt that next year this important work should be continued.

General Assembly of the Society was an important milestone for us. It set our future plans on carrying out government healthcare policy in reducing cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Delegates approved the work of the board within the reporting period, and elected according to the charter new board, presidium, vice-presidents and president for the next three years. New board included more regional branches of the Society that reflects the main intention of increasing their commitment to all Society's activities.

 In the upcoming year we are going to highly intensify our educational and organizational work in close collaboration with the National Medical Chamber. It will become a very important step in further development of the continuing postgraduate medical education system.

Last year RSC published new National Guideline on Cardiology which will be used as a foundation for several national guidelines; we are also going to translate, publish and promote European clinical guidelines. One of the priority target for Society is to participate in the development of medical accreditation system.

It is necessary to continue international collaboration as well. Russian achievements in clinical and fundamental medical science meet the highest international standards and should be widely presented on the international scientific arena.

Please let me express my deepest gratitude for your contribution in our mutual work, and wish you that the next year brings all of us new achievements and success.
