Cardiologists of Chita (Russia) joined MMM2019

Specialists of the Chita State Medical Academy participated in the May Measurement Month social initiative. The aim of volonteers was to screen adults who haven't tested their BP in 12 months or longer.

Medical students of the Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases Department received patients in the shopping malls of the city and Chita Medical Academy.

378 people were screened, hypertension was registered in 45 patients. All of them were advised to continue diagnostics, start therapy and lead more healthier lifestyle. 7 people were diagnosed with hypertonic crisis, they were stabilized.

This action didn't only helped to conduct the screening, but also promote healthy lifestyle. Respondents actively asked for advices on eating habits, physical activity. The interest of the public confirmed the efficacy of such actions.
