Working Group on Evidence-Based Medicine in Cardiovascular Prevention

 

 

 

Main goals 

 

Introduction of evidence-based medicine principles at all stages of prevention and treatment of the most common cardiovascular diseases, improving doctor’s knowledge in the area.

 

Teaching methods and skills of prevention effectiveness assessment based on evidence-based medicine principles for university instructors, researchers and doctors.

 

Teaching practical doctors how to solve clinical and prevention problems from the point of view of scientific facts received in large randomized prevention trials.

 

Organization of research programs to investigate the state of cardiovascular prevention and its methods at the present stage.

Planned activities

 

  1. Continue work within the educational project «HEBERDEN» on holding coronary artery disease schools (5 schools in the Russian cities are being planned).

  2. Hold seminars on evidence-based pharmacotherapy within the educational project for clinical pharmacologists in Moscow.

  3. Initiate Club of PROCAM program supporters to promote it in Russia.

  4. Start holding educational seminars “Prognosis of atherothrombotic disease according to PROCAM system and modern therapy

 

The WG is working together with a number of social groups: Russian Society for Cardiosomatic Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention, National Society for Atherosclerosis Investigation, European Society of Cardiology, and European Association of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Prevention.
