Report by Dr. Maria Kercheva, doctor of the acute cardiology unit in Research Institute of cardiology (Tomsk, Russia), from Milan where the Acute Cardiovascular Care 2018 Congress took place.

 

On March 3-5, 2018 the Acute Cardiovascular Care 2018 Congress was held in Milan, Italy. Doctors Alexandra Gombozhapova, Ekaterina Kruchinkina, Maria Kercheva and Yana Alekseeva from Tomsk National Research Medical Center have attended the congress. Poster presentations were also made by Doctors Sayana Gomboeva and Ekaterina Tsoy.

Presentation "The incidence of cardiotropic viruses in the myocardium in patients with acute decompensated chronic heart failure" made by Dr. Ekaterina Kruchinkina was met with big interest due to the topic significance. The presentation was made within the section on management of patients with decompensated heart failure.
Dr. Alexandra Gombozhapova participated in the young investigators award. After the pre-qualification she made it to the finals and presented her work "Haemostatic gene polymorphisms in acute coronary syndrome with nonobstructive coronary atherosclerosis". Chairpersons admitted a brilliant speech of the contestant and a high level and practical relevance of the presented work.

Several presentations of the Russian speakers were included in the poster session of the congress. Among them were:
Dr. Maria Kercheva with "Soluble ST2 and adverse left ventricular remodeling in patients with acute myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation" and "Doxycycline therapy and markers of degradation of extracellular collagen matrix in patients with acute primary anterior STEMI";
Dr. Yana Alexeeva with "Clinical study of recombinant non-immunogenic staphylokinase";
Dr. Sayana Gomboeva with "Folate metabolism gene polymorphisms in patients with acute coronary syndrome with nonobstructive coronary atherosclerosis" and "Haemostatic gene polymorphisms in acute coronary syndrome with nonobstructive coronary atherosclerosis";
Dr. Ekaterina Tsoy with "Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia with virus persistence in myocardium".


 


  

 

Participation of the young specialists from Russia was possible due to the ESC travel grants.

In 2019 the congress will be held in Malaga, Spain.
