Russian Society of Cardiology and American College of Cardiology conduct a joint educational programme in form of webinars dedicated to cardiovascular prevention. The first webinar took place in Saint-Petersburg in February.
This time the webinar consisted presentations by Prof. Sergey Boytsov, MD, PhD, Director of the National Center for Preventive Medicine, Vice President of the Russian Society of Cardiology; Dr. Aaron Kugelmass, MD, FACC, Associate Professor of Medicine at the Wayne State University, Chief Cardiology Division Director, Heart and Vascular Center, Baystate Medical Center and Dr. Robert Piana, MD, FACC, Interventional Cardiologist, Professor of Medicine at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
In total 1260 people registered for the webinar, and 640 participants completed the preliminary testing. The test showed that Russian doctors lack in several aspects of the therapy of cardiovascular patients. The webinar was called to improve that.
The webinar lasted more than planned 2,5 hours because of the great interest of the audience: people asked questions and participated in discussions.
The video from the webinar will be available at www.scardio.ru
The next webinar will be held in the fall and will be dedicated to the treatment of comorbidities.
